Photoshop Tutorial

1 - After cropping and resizing your chosen image
(I used this cap from Stargate SG-1), duplicate the base once. Set duplicated layer to screen.

2 - Still working on the duplicated layer go to Image > Adjustments > Auto Color.

3 - Go back to the base and then to Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen. I normally do that twice as I like my images to have the details stand out.

4 - Click back onto the top layer, and now we're going to add a layer adjustment. So go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color. These are the settings I've used, but play around with it until it suits your image.

Reds
C: -18
M: +9
Y: +13
B: 0

Yellows
C: +15
M: +21
Y: -21
B: 0

Neutrals
C: -19
M: +8
Y: +11
B: 0

5 - Flatten your image and then click on your blur tool (I use 5x with a strength of 31) and then smooth out the skin - but not the eyes or mouth.

And there you go.
